Mel Balkan is my very talented hair stylist and is now stocking Sow ‘n Sow’s Gifts of Seeds!
I’ve been seeing Mel ever since moving to Melbourne. I heard about her through my friend Jules who used to work at The Black Cat on Brunswick St. Mel’s amazing studio was just behind the Black Cat so at that time Mel was styling all the Black Cat staff’s hair. My first visit was just after moving to Melbourne having spent 6 months travelling so my hair was long and plain and pretty much a blank canvas. I asked Mel what she thought we should do with it and she proceeded with excitement and confidence to create a style for me based on my personality, dress style and features. Needless to say I was pretty impressed and walked out with a massive smile on my face and I’ve been going ever since.
Mel has just moved studio and is now in an equally as cool space in Thornbury. She runs her own show there so when you call to make an appointment you speak directly to Mel.
