We are still Open!

Despite a lot of change in the world at the moment, we are still open, still in stock and still shipping orders as usual from our Maleny studio.

If you’d like to reach out and connect with an old friend, a family member, a colleague or a member of your community then we’d love to help you.

We’ve been writing lots of messages along the lines of ‘hang in there buddy’ which is so nice to see. If you know someone who’s finding isolation quite tough, we can help you send them some cheer and something to do.

Don’t forget that shipping, gift wrapping and personal messages are on us, excluding wholesale orders.

Studio Snaps

We recently had a local photographer Elliot Swanson from Ground to Kitchen come by the studio to take some snaps for us. Here are a few of my favourites including some lovely snaps in our studio garden.

It’s always lovely  to collaborate with local people and we look forward to shooting more with Elliot in the coming months.

We’re busy preparing for the Gift and Homewares trade show Life Instyle which we’ll be exhibiting at in early August. I can’t wait to share the new products we’ve been working on!

We’re moving

Since I moved to Castlemaine last year I have been commuting to Melbourne to the Sow ‘n Sow studio in Fitzroy North. But a fabulous space in an old wool mill in town has become available so we’re getting ready to move our operations to Castlemaine in the middle of August.  We will be leaving behind a great space that we have shared with wonderful, talented and inspiring creatives including Lauren McIvorBilly Justice Thompson, Spencer Harrison, Kitiya Palaskas and Joe Whyte. But the hardest part will be having to say goodbye to our loyal employee August Carpenter. August has been working for Sow ‘n Sow for nearly 2 years and she’s been so incredibly accommodating, reliable and all round wonderful, I couldn’t have asked for a better team member and life without her a part of the team won’t be the same.

August has done most of the order fulfillment and product assembly for Sow ‘n Sow since baby Bonnie arrived last March. She is an extremely talented artist and has a bunch of exciting projects on the go so I have no doubt that she’ll become a household name in art circles at the least soon. And hopefully she’ll make a few guest appearances to the new studio in Castlemaine too.

GPO Melbourne Makers Feature

The lovely Lucy Amon from Melbourne’s GPO came to the Sow ‘n Sow studio on a Saturday morning to take some pics and interview me for the Melbourne Makers series.

I was a bit hung over having spent the previous night out on the town (the first since having Bonnie!) so I was a little rough around the edges. Hopefully you can’t tell and hoping Lucy didn’t notice either 😉

We had a lovely chat and Lucy took some gorgeous pics of the studio. If only the studio was always this tidy!

In the Studio

My sister Madeleine Brady came to hang out at the Sow ‘n Sow studio late last year and while there she tidied up the place and took some photos, lucky me! Maddie is an artist and works for Olsen Irwin gallery in Sydney. She manages and curates Olsen Irwin Works on Paper, Small Paintings and Sculpture and also writes the articles on their blog. Sweet job Mads! Her own blog is also quite a treat.
