Sweet Peas and Marigold

It is with much excitement that I introduce two new Gifts of Seeds to the Sow ‘n Sow range, ‘Baby Sweet Pea’ and ‘Thank-you Marigold’.

Designed by my very talented sister Madeleine Brady, the Thank-you Gift of Seeds have been kept beautifully simple and elegant to suit any occasion or gift giving opportunity. With gorgeous, easy to grow organic marigold seeds and a white planter tag, they are a meaningful, heartfelt way to say thank you, and a gift that keeps on giving too. The thank-you seeds are ready to purchase and can be used for wedding bombonniere’s or send them to your valued clients… wherever a heartfelt thank you is called for, may it be a beautiful and environmentally friendly one too!

The Baby Sweet Pea packet contains organic sweet pea seeds of course! A beautiful way to welcome little ones to the world. They can be used for baby showers, baby announcements and to congratulate parents on new arrivals. Bellissimo Events recently used them for a stunning High Tea Baby Shower (pictured below), a gorgeous gift for guests to take home, sow and ‘see the flowers bloom as baby blossoms’…

Both ‘Baby Sweet Pea’ and ‘Thank-you Marigold’ are already available at some of our wonderful new stockists Australia wide, and will soon be available for purchase in our webshop.

Sow ‘n Sow at Regional Flavours

We had a wonderful weekend at Regional Flavours. After months of work designing and installing the pallet gardens and hanging installations, we were able to see and hear the public admiring our creations. The response was incredibly overwhelming… just about everyone who walked past the pallet gardens stopped to have a look and the comments were heard were very gratifying. People were theorising how they were made and we were asked many questions which we gladly answered. We now have a long list of names from people who were interested in getting their hands on their own pallet gardens!

Aside from the great feedback and interest we had in the pallet gardens and hanging installations, we also sold our wares at our market stall. We pulled together a beautiful collection of flowers, fresh herb bouquets and plants to compliment our range of Gifts of Seeds. We also had a stand to promote our custom Gifts of Seeds and had lots of interest for many different applications! Below are some photos from the weekend including a few of our pallet gardens.

Many thanks to everyone who helped us on the weekend, to South Bank for the wonderful opportunity and to all the lovely people who took an interest in Sow ‘n Sow.

Stunning new photos!

I have just had the very difficult task of going through hundreds of beautiful stylised product photos and trying to choose just a few to feature on our website. No easy job! How is one to choose when there are so many stunning images? The wonderful photographer is Emily Jade Barr, a very creative friend of mine who spent probably 10 hours with me setting these pictures up and snapping away. All the seedlings were home-grown with our organic seeds of course and all of the beautiful props come from Emily’s extensive collection of awesome trinkets. If you check out the rest of the Sow ‘n Sow website you will see more of the beautiful photographs. The ones here are a selection of the un-used photos and they haven’t been edited at all. Thanks so much Emily, you’re amazing!

Introducing… Oregano, Poppy and Forget-me-not!

It is with great pleasure that I introduce the three new Gifts of Seeds: Poppy, Forget-me-not and Oregano! These were especially selected because the seeds can be sown in the cooler months of the year so our Gifts of Seeds are suitable all year round.

Poppy’s are an incredibly beautiful delicate flower and an absolute joy. We’ve chosen the flanders/ corn poppy variety so expect those stunning orange-red petals with beauty spots when they flower in spring. The seeds can be sown in autumn and winter.

Forget-me-not is a sweet cottage garden plant which produces masses of tiny bright blue flowers. The seeds should be sown before winter and will blossom in spring. They are also one of those clever plants that re-seeds itself, ensuring seedlings will emerge year after year in the same spot as were sown the first time around.

And who doesn’t love Oregano, the taste of the mediterranean, the taste of pizza! A lovely plant for the herb garden or pot with gorgeous little leaves, white flowers and of course a lovely scent. It is a perennial too so will provide years of flavour.

All three are now available to purchase in our online shop and we will be supplying them to stockists in the coming weeks. I have also created a pack of three so you can purchase all three at once via our online outlets for $25.

Happy gardening!!

Christmas wrap up

We would like to thank all our stockists and customers who made our ‘Gifts of Seeds’ a part of their festive season. A special thanks to hardtofind for featuring ‘My Basil’ in their gift guide for stocking fillers under $40, Mandrake and Willow for featuring us in their christmas gift guide and Susan Parsons for her write up of Sow ‘n Sow in the Canberra Times Food & Wine section. We had a great end to our first year with many stockists placing second orders in the lead up to Christmas and lots of online orders keeping us busy. We are now working on exciting new products and planning what we hope will be a busy, productive 2011. For those of you who have planted Sow ‘n Sow seeds, we would love to see pictures of the progress of your seedlings and plants so please don’t hesitate to email photos to [email protected] And one last thing, we are delighted to announce a new stockist in Penguin Tasmania, the gorgeous Nest pictured below.
