It has been a busy few months here in the Sow ‘n Sow studio; Michelle has recently made a huge leap and moved to the countryside (- it’s beautiful, we are all very jealous) and Cat has just finished her exams! We’ve been celebrating the recent launch and success of both the Enchanted Garden and Bug Wonderland Gift of Seeds, and are equally excited about the addition of “It’s Christmas Thyme” to our festive range.
The past few weeks have seen us busily gearing up for our return to The Big Design Market, which is happening on the 5th, 6th and 7th of December. We would love to see you there, come and say hello!
As it was so enjoyable last year, we are coming back bigger and better with a larger stall, all our new Gifts of Seeds, and our gorgeous new Flower Press. We are also very excited to be included in The Big Design Market’s ‘Designer Showbag’, in which you can find 4 of our beautiful Gift Tags, amongst some other super cool things like funky socks.
This week in particular, we have been causing havoc in the studio by painting walls and plotting the wildly wonderful and colourful backdrop for our stall. This year you will be able to find us just inside and to the right of the entrance to the Royal Exhibition Building… or, I could say, that you may find us at the end of the rainbow See you there! August
We just received these professional photos from South Bank in Brisbane, taken during Regional Flavours last year. That’s me (Michelle) at the top in our stall during the event, then Maddie, then a closeup shot of one of our pallet garden beds, and the Junior Masterchef contestants sitting beside a pallet garden. They are such lovely shots, I couldn’t resist posting them straight to the blog!
We had a wonderful weekend at Regional Flavours. After months of work designing and installing the pallet gardens and hanging installations, we were able to see and hear the public admiring our creations. The response was incredibly overwhelming… just about everyone who walked past the pallet gardens stopped to have a look and the comments were heard were very gratifying. People were theorising how they were made and we were asked many questions which we gladly answered. We now have a long list of names from people who were interested in getting their hands on their own pallet gardens!
Aside from the great feedback and interest we had in the pallet gardens and hanging installations, we also sold our wares at our market stall. We pulled together a beautiful collection of flowers, fresh herb bouquets and plants to compliment our range of Gifts of Seeds. We also had a stand to promote our custom Gifts of Seeds and had lots of interest for many different applications! Below are some photos from the weekend including a few of our pallet gardens.
Many thanks to everyone who helped us on the weekend, to South Bank for the wonderful opportunity and to all the lovely people who took an interest in Sow ‘n Sow.
Sow ‘n Sow is excited to introduce a new variety to our Gift of Seeds collection. ‘Charming Chilli’ is now available! It can be purchased in our online store and will be with most stockists soon.
I had a lovely time at the North Melbourne Market yesterday. I was very lucky to be positioned beside the lovely Simply Phoebe and her amazing fabric neck pieces, with the oh-so-popular Andrea Reiss Chef Patissiere on my other side selling mouth watering delicacies including delightful macaroons! Andrea and her team could hardly keep up with demand and now I know why, with a pink box of goodies vanishing quickly beside me, they are absolutely devine even the next day. Charming Chilli surprised me as the most popular Gift of Seeds at the market. I also had some gorgeous Gift Sets available and the kids one was especially popular. I will make these available in the online shop in time for christmas – a thoughtful gift for young green thumbs! Thanks to my groupies who came and supported me through the morning and thanks to Phoebe for the chats!
That’s me looking smug behind my little stall.
Thanks for taking the photos Jules!
